My pomeranian is impossible to train can you help?

I have a 14 month pom and she is awful. I have been trying to potty train her since she was 3 months old. We know she can hold it, but she chooses to go in our home. At night we put her in a crate and then take her out in the morning, she will hold it the whole night if she is in a crate. If we leave her outside of the crate during the night, she will crap and piss everywhere. WTF. I have a terrier mix and she does perfectly well with the potty training. I am not sure what the pom's problem is. Are they stupid or something? Also, how can I get her to stop jumping on strangers, when we take her for a walk she tries to jump on people. I have read training guides etc. to no avail. She is the cutest little thing, but geez this is frustrating.
