I have wireless between two computers and both are running quite slow ?

Wireless IS slower than a direct connection with a networking cable to your router or modem to begin with. At least 50 percent slower than a wired connection. Secondly, the farther away you are from the wireless modem or router, the slower your connection will be. The weaker the wireless connection, the higher the packet loss and the data has to be sent and resent until the server gets a valid packet.
