Anyone think American Idol goes on for too too long?

While I'm Answers I'm flicking through the tv channels. Just saw American Idol and realised quite a good few weeks ago it was on. Isn't it time the producers made it shorter. Surely there's no anticipation or excitement after all this time (unless an international guest is starring live)
