If mive oil reserves were discovered beneath Gaza,could we expect to see the USA "liberate" it from Israel?

I often see the claim in Y!A that the USA intervenes on humanitarian grounds as some heroic liberator of the oppressed (Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia etc etc), yet I can list numerous instances when the USA has deliberately vetoed UN Security Council resolutions to prevent any such "humanitarian intervention" when it doesn't suit their aims. I wonder just how much of an about-face would happen if mive oil reserves were found beneath Gaza? How much would that test the USA-Israel alliance?
