Ya, because the nuclear info is doubled, and then divides. I think either would be alright, but if that's a question you are being asked then I think your teacher is looking for the fact that the DNA isn't just divided between the 2 new cells, the DNA gets replicated first and each cell gets an entire copy of the DNA.
