Are chi products good for african american emo hair?

I have permed african american hair. I am now taking more care of my hair like washing and deep conditioning every week.I also wrap my hair every night in a satin wrap and sleep on satin pillow sheets. I really want that volume spiky emo kind of hair. What I'm looking for is a HAIRSPRAY that can Volumes my hair but that WON'T leave it STIFF so i can wrap it and that it WON'T BREAK OFF MY HAIR. I was thinking of using CHI HELMET HAIR and CHI BODYFYING VOLUMIZE GLAZE. or are there any other product's that will do the same thing. Are other Chi products good on black hair?
